I’m a self-help book junkie and I look forward to scouring BN.com and Amazon.com weekly for new releases.
I’ve found that on more than one occasion I’ve looked further into a new book that looked promising only to find that what I thought was something with a psychological or philosophical bent was actually some weird Jesus-centric Christian indoctrinary spiel.
I get the sense that publishers are literally trying to trick the general public into reading evangelical bullshit. Like I’m already damaged enough to be reading self-help I don’t need to be turned into some capital-storming soldier of Christ on top of it.
I’d like to make the case for a disclaimer on any all books with a religious bent. We have content warnings for romance, so this only seems fair.
